To change your Netgear password on your desktop or laptop, follow these instructions:
- Go to the Netgear home page.
- Hover your cursor over the Sign In icon in the navigation bar at the top of the screen. A drop-down menu will appear.
- Click on Sign In.
- Click on the Forgot Password? link.
- Enter your Netgear account email address in the text field provided.
- Complete the CAPTCHA.
- Click on Reset Password.
- Check your email for the password reset email Netgear sent you.
- Copy the verification code from the email.
- Enter the code.
- Enter a new password.
- Confirm the password.
- Click on Submit.
Changing Your Netgear Orbi App Password
If you have Netgear's Orbi app, you can change your Orbi app password by following these instructions:
- Launch the app.
- Tap on Forgot Your Password?
- Enter your Orbi account email address.
- Follow steps 7 through 13 of the instructions given above.
Changing Your Netgear Router Password
To change the password of your Netgear router, take these steps:
- Go to Netgear's router login page.
- Enter your router's user name.
- Enter the router's password. (If you never set them, enter the defaults: "admin" for the username and "password" for the password.)
- Click on OK.
- Select Wireless.
- Enter a name for your network under Name (SSID).
- Enter the new password in the Password (Network Key) field.
- Click on Apply.
